This is a significant upgrade to the 13" MacBook Pro with the M1 SOC.The MacBook Pro 13" with either M1 or M2 should have never been made or called a Pro as it is essentially a MacBook Air with a fan. The 14" MacBook Pro are the ones with the Pro chip for the M1 Pro and M2 Pro.

The 512gb version is also available at a discount but at $849 i think it makes more sense to get the m5 with 512gb at base for $999(after education discount, no verification required)

Good price but worry about storage.

Folks in the know do not allow their friends to buy refurbished. Don't do it! Why would you buy someone else's problem when you can get a superior new model for a little bit more? Avoid like the plague.

It is definitely a significant upgrade from your laptop, however unless you do intensive work on your mac, then the difference will be negligible. However if you do do intensive work or are looking at getting away from the touchbar (i know i would be) or your battery is toast, then this is very good value.

Apple certified refurbished macbooks come in basically new the majority of the time, and i yet to find someone who had significant problems with an apple certified refurb. These are more likely than not just returns that apple checked over and threw in generic packing.

For other companies that may be true. For Apple the main difference is the price and the refurb comes in a generic (though still nice) box.

I've bought numerous Apple refurbished laptops and pcs over the years and have never been burned. Would not hesitate to do it again unless you're looking for the latest like M5 and nothing available in stock

My work had upgraded me from an m1 to m3 and I noticed different ports and unit being much heavier. Performance wise, zero observable difference for me, I somewhat regretted it due to the additional weight

Every Apple Store refurb I've bought has been in mint condition. One downside I've experienced is that the product number is different for a refurb and I had it rejected when trading in to a 3rd party.

If the edu discount applied to these, would be killer, but unfortunately not. I'm still thinking these are about $100 too high, but am tempted...
