This vs the De'Longhi Classic Espresso Machine with Milk Frother listed on SD for $160? Looking for my first espresso machine. Quality of drinks and ease of use most important.

Bought this a few years ago. I make 5+ drinks a day and it's still going strong, no complaints. Easy to clean/low maintenance.

Same experience with Evo, bought it new for somewhat $450-500 from DeLonghi direct. We use it a lot, though with the separate frother for capucchino.
I'd probably avoid buying refurb from Amazon/Woot - people complain about getting used or non-working machines, hard to return - read reviews.

Same, evo from costco; only downfall to that model is there is no 'coffee' option (I adjusted the pour to about 25% more water in espresso and just hit the 2x for a smaller coffee)

I think ~3 years with it, minimal maintenance is valid. I use filtered water for better taste and reduced sediments, but when I do scale it it does taste much cleaner.

Not at all comparable to a regular espresso maker, those can hit higher pressures and really extract caffeine. This easily replaced my espresso maker just from ease of use.

You can add 2 years insurance through asurion within 30 days of purchase. For the evo is $27 and plus is $44.

I have the Magnifica Evo (also from De'Longhi Direct). These are great prices on excellent, reliable, easy to maintain machines. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. My only caveat is that the automatic milk frother, although convenient, is just OK. I would purchase the 2 year warranty for peace of mind as repairs can be expensive. Luckily, I haven't had to use my warranty

I purchased one a few weeks ago, the first one came with a box damaged and shatered water tank. Woot sent a replacement immediately. I received it 3 days ago, and it looks and works great. The only sign of use is a few coffee grains I found in the bag. It still has the factory plastic cover on the sensor panel.
Espresso shots are the same or better than I was able to make with my manual Breville. Milk drinks are ok (can't really tell the difference between latte and cappuccino), and the milk system is easy to clean.
Very happy with the purchase. Will definitely get the protection plan.

Have this machine I bought as a Christmas gift for about $450. The machine did destroy itself after 2 months and I had to send it in for repairs... I think that was a fluke though. Send the machine back and they ended up sending us a new one 3 weeks later. Maybe buy the warranty or wait for a sale on a model that includes the warranty.
The coffee is great though. Just wanted to say that once you get the beans dialed in it makes great espresso for the effort.
De'Longhi did honor the warranty but it was a pain to wait over an hour for customer service to answer their phone and it did require facetiming them to show them the problem for those curious about that kind of thing.

Magnifica Plus for $450 with a 3 year warranty for another $58....Seems like a win to me.

These are $1299 right now!
