For what it's worth, both Walmart and Amazon have the 2 Speaker version, The Klipsch GIG XXL for $99 & the price history on Amazon shows it drops to $79 quite regularly. Personally, I'd hold out and pay $14 dollars more for the 2 speaker model which according to it's price history pattern, should be very soon.

EDIT: They claim the output of the 2 speaker model is 113db vs 109db for the 1 speaker version. 4db doesn't sound like a lot but consider this. 3db is the equivalent to doubling amplifier output to a single speaker or adding 1 additional speaker with the equivalent power. So it's actually a little over twice as loud. Twice as loud being 3db more.

Dude, for the price of 1 of those, you could buy 4 of these with money left over. Those JBLs are like $300 and up. This is $65. It better be better. It better be a helluva lot better. That's like comparing a $65k car to a $300k+ supercar.

I've never owned either one, but at $200 vs $65, you're paying over 200% more $ for the Sony. My guess it's going to be better but again, I've owned neither. One thing I've noticed with people and speaker brands is they can be a lot like car and tool brands meaning many people are crazy brand loyal so It's hard to get a good unbiased opinion.

While I agree with you that maybe the other speaker is a better deal. You're incorrect on the 3db fact. 3db is double the SPL, 10db is twice as loud.

I bought the big brother XXL version on an eBay deal a couple years back and absolutely love this sound. I'm sure this will make people happy as well. If you're a HAS TO BE PERFECT person, then you'll never be happy with anything. Enjoy it.

Sure, but I'm not going to argue with you because there's nothing to agree or disagree with; you just want to argue about semantics because it really just comes down to one's definition of "twice as loud." The undisputable & scientific fact of the matter is 3 dB more is achieved by the literal doubling (100% more) of a precise and measurable acoustic intensity/energy, while on the other hand, that 10db figure you brought up is a roundabout, guesstimation or what's "perceived" to the human ear as "about twice as loud". In a way, they are both correct but 3 dB more is a verifiable, exact, and precise scientific measurement, while that 10db you're talking about isn't, It's just a human using his unaided ear to guesstimate what he thinks sounds about what's twice as loud, which might or might not even translate to a measureable 10db difference. It won't even be the same number from person to person. Heck, it might not even be the same number with the same person from guess to guess.

Hard to beat I got 2 of the gig xxl from Costco a year ago for 100 bucks each. Also have the JBL 110 to compare the JBL sounds way better and louder plus better Bluetooth but for the price the gig xxl you can have 3 or 4 of them. I think it all depends on budget but anything under a 100 bucks for a larger speaker it's not a bad deal. JBL will run you more than double and to me it's worth it if you got it, if not enjoy the gig xl or xxl it's nice for the price.

I'm personally thinking a pair of the Klipsch Gig XXL for $160 total when they go on sale at Amazon, would be a pretty dynamite-sounding, true stereo set-up for the price.

While no microphone, I bought years ago five megablasts and three blasts and have two in the bedroom and the others throughout the house. They have Alexa and are amazing still.

I bought 2 of the XXL model for our outdoor reception a couple of years ago and was very happy with the value. The JBL is much better in pretty much every way, but these are plenty good enough for the average back yard pool party or whatever.

Generally for karaoke you need 2 mics. Can you connect 2 mics to this speaker?
Maybe 1 wired and 1 via BT or some other setup?
