This is a budget home theater projector that stands out more for convenience features than raw image quality. Auto keystone, remote focus adjustment, built in apps, phone casting, and streaming support are the main draws, and native 1080p at this price is considered plausible. Brightness claims are questioned, though, and cheap projector optics and light output still matter more than marketing. The native software is described as weak, so an external streaming stick makes it work much better. A decent low cost pick if expectations stay grounded.

I bought this projector and the native software sucked. I threw a Roku stick on it and it works 10x better. I also picked up a BT speaker and works flawless connected to Roku.

I recently purchased a similar one and I learned that not all projectors are built the same. Besides resolution/brightness, some cool features that people may care about that cheaper projectors may not have is:
  • Auto Keystone
  • Auto focus
  • Screen cast your phone screen capability
  • operating system that has built in apps (no firestick needed)
  • good speakers

Paint your wall. Cheap screens from Walmart are serviceable, but have creases from packaging. Marketplace or other used sites are where you can find some deals. I wouldn't really invest a ton into a cheap projector though. If you're using speakers make sure they're wired as Bluetooth audio lag stinks. I had some battery powered speakers I used wired.

Also note the deal is dead. Price is now $153.89.

As someone who buys projectors ranging from $400-$20K, I can tell you with almost certainty that just about nothing. There are actually a few options with native 1080P that can be still found for even cheaper than this. The main things that might differ ever so slightly besides form factor is streaming options built in, speaker wattage, and lumens. Just about everything else including contrast will be a laughable difference since contrast is a very subjective stat for projector companies as there is no standard.Yes, the technology is now almost ancient so extremely cheap to manufacture. What will make the 1080p look better or worse, is the optic (plastic or glass) and the power of the light source, but yes native 1080 resolution can be had for $80 and even cheaper (I believe last one I saw was around $35). Still have to watch out for those that say they are 1080 but actually list 720 as their native.
What could be the best option for a cheap projector that can be use in the sunlight?

The only BIG factor that will effect ability to view during the day is if the projector is a light cannon or not, so 3500+ Lumen type projectors. Some older models like 2020 can be had for around $500ish, some newer models can be had for around $600-750 almost all of them will be traditional and not ultra short throw or anything like that. For UST you need to jack up the price more.
