I couldn't disagree with this assertion more than this: these are great filters and the OP has no idea what they are talking about. These filters are superior and are typically $8 or more.
BUY these if you can get a good price. I have been using for 30 years with ZERO complaints.
You are wrong on this. Purolator has been around for a long time. They invented the oil filter. This filter is usually $8-9 and is known to be a great filter. less than $3 is a steal for anyone who does their own oil changes. If I had a car this would work on I would buy 20 of them and not have to worry about filters for years.
Just because something is cheap right now doesn't mean it's bad. A normally $3 oil filter in 2026 is probably not great but one that is discounted to $3 temporarily is a different story
I am just the skeptic... but I would think they must of made a bad batch and they are clearing them out. No other reason for being so cheap.
I own a few Hondas - just pay up and get Honda OEM filters - they cost a little more, but are engineered to work based on Honda's guidelines. Its one time I feel its worth the extra -
OEM filters are made by Fram. Not awful but nothing special or really worth the extra cost.
Now that Fram filed for bankruptcy may change soon depending on that outcome.

I agree that they have a good reputation, but a google search for "do purolator parts have quality control issues" gives some concerning information. I will stay away from them for a while.
