I've used this protein powder for several years and I don't have an issue with the chocolate flavor. Let's not kid ourselves and pretend that all the protein shakes need to taste like 1000 calorie milkshakes. This is something where I put 7 ounces of water or so in shaker with a few ice cubes and it takes me like five seconds to drink it. So I'm not tasting it that long.

how does it compare to the ascent protein powder, which will be discounted to $38 from April 6th:

I'm tired of buying crappy vanilla flavors, trying to find a good one. Although this one seems to get good reviews, so I wonder if I should try it. Any thoughts on the vanilla flavor?
I really like the vanilla flavor for this brand.

Ascent uses natural ingredients, like stevia as a sweetener instead of sucralose in the On brand protein. If both are on sale, I'd rather choose Ascent.

Bunch of whiny babies in this thread who probably get their protein from soy.

Good price OP TY. This and the Kirkland Brand whey work just fine. Even for the DYEL's.

Currently using this from the last deal, but found the Kirkland branded one is almost identical and regular everyday price is $50. The only caveat to the Kirkland bag is it doesn't include the self seal lock on the bag so takes a bit to seal it properly.

I have been using ON for a long time, how is the Kirkland brand? I was going to try it after my last bag.

Ive been looking for a new protein powder lately since I recently started lifting. Had been using the wife's "reject" powders from long ago. Came to the near end of the bag of Shakeology cookies and cream, and had to admit it actually tasted quite good. I ended up buying some 2 lb tubs of ON extreme milk chocolate and double rich chocolate, as well as some Ghost Nutter Butter. Hands down winner is Ghost, taste just like a NB, has little bits of cookie in it which I'm not a super huge fan of, but not terrible... But it is the most expensive of the new powders.
The ONs were interesting. Dissolved super easy in water which is nice. No gritty texture with minimal shaking. Flavor wise I didn't hate either. Wife liked the ECM (sweeter, more chocolate milky) I liked the DRC (much less sweet, "darker" chocolate notes). They aren't as "thick" as the ghost or the Shakeology, which isn't a bad thing, just something to note. I think they'd be better in almond milk or something. Overall decent powder, I can see why people have good things to say about it. Think I'll try and combine the ECM and DRC next shaker bottle.

When ON is on sale it's the same price as the Kirkland. The Kirkland chocolate is good. The macros seem on par with ON. Both are easily mixable and don't clump. I'd go either when it's cheap. As lot as it doesn't taste like MyProtein with the artificial sweeteners and aren't amino spiked you should be good.
