Gibson rarely has their guitars on sale. This deal is only through Sweetwater as I searched everywhere else for the same guitar. I couldn't pass this up since I have been wanting a real Gibson Les Paul 60's. They have the same color and price for the 50's as well. The sale is only for the burgundy color. The rest are full price at $2599. This is $600 off and comes with a Gibson hard case.
The Gibson Les Paul Standard '60s Plain Top boasts the classic design that's kept this solidbody electric guitar relevant, played, and loved throughout the decades. You get tried-and-true maple-over-mahogany construction, and its '60s Burstbucker pickups milk every ounce of tone out of its musically resonant body. The Les Paul Standard '60s Plain Top's set mahogany neck wields Gibson's time-tested SlimTaper profile, and its 12-inch-radius Indian rosewood fingerboard offers playability that's second to none. A Graph Tech nut, ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge, aluminum stopbar tailpiece, and Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons round out this Les Paul Standard's hardware. You also get single-ply body and fingerboard binding, acrylic trapezoid fingerboard inlays, a mother-of-pearl headstock logo, and a spotlight-stealing nitrocellulose lacquer finish. If you've been wanting a modern Les Paul with a slinky '60s feel and premium appointments, Sweetwater has your axe. The Gibson Les Paul Standard '60s Plain Top is the one you've been waiting for.

This isn't a "rare" sale by any means, but it's still $600 off which is decent for a LP Standard.
i always wanted a US Les Paul... so i bought 2 from musicians friend as it was a great price. it was even on here as a frontpage.....
what a pile of shit both of those guitars were. not set up, finish sucked, intonation was horrible.
never again Gibson, never.
But I've only been playing guitar for FIFTY - FREAKIN' - YEARS .. what the hell do I know?

I bought 3 from another dealer with no tax for $1899/ea, brand new.
None of them were from MF/GC that are well known to sell floor models as new (their definition of "new" is something that hasn't been officially sold to anyone yet).
$1699 no tax from https://slickdeals.net/f/18622411-gibson-les-paul-standard-50s-plain-top-sparkling-burgundy-electric-guitar-1699 and $1599 + tax from https://slickdeals.net/f/18716521-backorder-gibson-les-paul-standard-60s-plain-top-electric-guitar-inverness-green-1599-free-shipping.

Came across this knowledge when I had planned to buy a LP in 2023 from MF and I got a call from a random GC in Seattle saying if its cool if they ship it in a case that wasnt from Gibson cause they dont have any in stock. I cancelled my order then and there. Bought from Zzounds instead as they usually ship guitars sealed from pass experience. Couple years later i bought a Open box LP standard from SweetWater from here and it came as stated.
Dont blame Gibson. Next time research the retailer that sells them.

That unfortunately hasnt been the price in NYC for like 10 years. Getting a setup here at any reputable Luthier ranges from $80-$100 depending if its at retail shop or their personal business.
