is this a somewhat reputable brand at all? I looked at ebikes a couple days ago and was overwhelmed by the number of brands out there lol

You kind of have to get the idea of brands out of your mind with China ebikes. Me and my wife have two of the exact same bikes but they have different labels on them and were sold under different brand names. That being said I have found the quality of the three in total generic china e-bikes we have to be fine and have had no trouble with any of them.

The bikes are not as concerning as cheap batteries. A neighbors garage burned down as a result of a cheap (power tool) battery malfunctioning last year. It's my biggest concern with them.

The price is great. There is a video review saying the company has been around and this is a new model that does perform: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr5T51LE_u0 There is a 2271 certification for batteries and a 2849 certification on the electrical system that would include the battery. Asking AI said there is no claim of certification. Thes ebikes with 500 watt motors might not ever give continuous volts so it is another question for AI. Bafang is the quality Chinese motor found on the best two selling ebike companies-- Lectric and Aventon. Rad Power Bikes got bought out in bankruptcy and should have Bafang motors once again. This is a great price but I certainly would not charge it inside a house even though it could meet the 2849 standards and does not have it because it cost money. Electric cars have made great advancements this year and the future of cars and motorcycles and mopeds and bikes is electric. See The Electric Viking or Inside China Business on YouTube.
