As someone who splurged and got the Max first instead, I would say only get it if you're doing a lot of entertaining and need the capacity. Granted, I'm not a big alcohol drinker and just like slushies, iced coffees, etc, so I'm not using it daily or anything. But the Max is HUGE and takes up a ton of space in your kitchen. We don't use our dining room much, so the Max literally just lives on our dining room table because it's so large. That being said, the thing is SUPER easy to clean and take apart. The "Slush Assist" feature is kind of gimmicky to me, as it tends to overfreeze the drink in my experience. I typically use it and then dial it back a couple notches from whatever it decides on.

This was my plan as well, but a sweetener of some sort is necessary for drinks to properly "slush". So just dumping in some sort of zero sugar beverage to make a slush doesn't work well. A liquid sweetener like Allulose works relatively well, but too much can change the taste of your zero sugar beverage base since it's also a sweetener.

I'm not sure I understand the Max comments, that version only supports 4% stronger ABV. Just add a little tequila topper to your margaritas and stick with the regular version. I don't need to spend twice as much on a machine twice as big to support 20% ABV over 16%. This thing is already going to be a PITA to store without doubling the size.

Obviously a different story if you've got large groups and are going through numerous batches since the capacity and cooling power will actually get used, but otherwise I don't get it.
