temu has them for $2 why people pay these crazy prices is insane
Legit question, have you seen and compared both? Long term use? I would doubt that $2 glasses will sustain any damage or mistreatment… not saying that the $80 would. But I would expect better materials or even warranty.

I had $170 oakleys and the damn lens coating started peeling within 2 years, literal garbage. Bought at Macy's too btw. Meanwhile, i still have a pair cheap gas station sunglasses i got for about ten bucks years ago and they still hold up even through abuse
Some of the comments on https://www.macys.com/shop/produc...ew-section are hilarious, e.g.:
"Love this dress!"
"Extremely disappointed- 1st pair of raybans I bought that had 1 lens over both eyes??"
I am guessing xpeng referred to Luxottica (EssilorLuxottica). It's been widely reported/estimated that Luxottica controls a majority of the sunglasses market, perhaps over 80%. One of their brands is Ray-Ban.

Had a pair of Ray-Ban for over 10 years and dropped it more times than I can count. I lost them when riding my scooter. I bought other brands as well, but none of them were as high quality as Ray-Ban. Nothing wrong with Temu for that price especially. It's good that there is a market segment for everybody.

I bought Oakleys and had the same lens peeling issue within a year. Never again.

Can you post the temu link for the product here please? Unable to find it.

Old ray bans were fantastic. Modern Ray Bans made by Luxotica are trash, same as modern Oakleys, and every cheaply built Luxotica-owned brand.
For a similar price point, I have found Serengeti sunglasses are superior in every way, without the cost cutting and quality compromises of the Luxotica brands.

I second this! I had 3 Oakleys and a Persol, but my fav is Serengeti. I paid around $50 for it while others were $100+
