Originally I was a little worried about LED replacements, but apparently the mfg will send you replacements if they fail in 2 yrs, and you can buy them (2 pack for $10 https://www.amazon.com/Buzbug-Rep...0G6YRV5SS/ ) so it's probably a good option vs the old style florescent version. I have bought the florescent version of this ( most recently https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWLFB5U/ specifically in June 2022 for $37.78 with the 2 replacement tubes) and have absolutely no complaints, there's an equal amount of attraction with 1 bulb vs 2 so I tend to only replace one florescent when there are no tubes working and you *should* in theory be able to do the same with LEDs. I have one replacement bulb still from the June purchase using this replacement strategy with it on 24/7 since purchase. Just make sure you don't put mount this anywhere where exploded bugs are a problem as it can be a bit messy and they will *SIGNIFICANTLY* reduce both seeums and noseeums. (I live in a rural area that has a fly season, and occasionally mosquitoes make it in the house, while these won't attract mosquitoes they seem to have no problem zapping the ones that wander over to check on the bug blood Wink ) Definitely worth getting if you have a lot of plants (or eat a lot of fruit) or if you just live in an area where there are enough flying bugs to bug you.

Over the past 90 days, the Buzbug LED Bug Zapper Indoor has shown considerable price volatility:

• Current price: $26.99 (today's 90-day low!)

90-day low: $26.99 (today)

90-day high: $39.99 (multiple periods)

Median price: $33.99

The price started at $34.99 in January, dropped to $33.99

through most of January and February, then fluctuated between $31.99-$39.99 in March. Today's price of $26.99 represents the lowest price in the entire 90-day period - that's $13 off the recent high price or about 33% off.

These things are quite effective and last a while.
I have been using one indoors for about 3 years occasionally during summer time.
Catches mosquitos, ghats, flies, fruit flies, etc.

When my mother's indoor plants developed some tiny flying insects from potting soil, this got rid of them, too.
These tiny insects were too small to be zapped, but they were still attracted to the light and must have gotten dehydrated by the heat.
Anyways, I think it's worth it to have around.

Less effective than zapper with fluorescent tube. Get much less bug zapped. We have fruit flies and flour moths. Put bananas skin in trash bin and put this flat on top do zap a lot of fruit flies.

these are great.. i have a couple in the barn ... you need to clean it out every few days because some of the big moths will short out the grid.. works great inside (over night) to get rid of those pesky flies too ... place in shade or better yet dark areas

Why? I have a dual tube version that we keep running 24/7. It came with extra bulbs and ice had to replace them already. Figured the led lights would last much longer for significantly less power consumption.
I have one of these, the lights are not bright at all, I plugged it in for a few hours and it got zero, so I bought bulbs for my other one and it was working right away

I am actually surprised some people never seen bug zapper indoors. Like, have you not been to restaurants that have similar ones indoors? If not, look around. For at home use, it's probably nicer to have ones outdoors, but for people who need to keep doors open, or areas that are exposed to outdoors, these will be a good addition. No one light fits all, but an added option.

We have one of these in the garage and near the front door. The zaps are super loud but we always yell out "got emmmm" after a zap.

When I bought 4 different bug zappers 3 years ago, I was told that UV LEDs were not as effective a fluorescent tubes. I never learned why, but I have since also bought an LED based zapper. Sure enough, it attracted fewer bugs. One of the fluorescent zappers had zapped over 1,000 bugs in just one season. The LED one only captured about 42 in 4 months (it's hard to be sure because the bugs are sometimes thrown out of the zapper). The LED is placed within 5 feet of where the fluorescent zapper was.

Sure enough, many reviews say that their bugs simply aren't attracted to the zapper. One person said that she left it on in her dark kitchen and when she woke up, there were plenty of flies flying around.

I think the reason LEDs are less effective is because their light is directional and weakens considerably as you look away from the center. In contrast, fluorescents bathe the entire area with light. I might still get this because the LEDs seem brighter than the cheap one I have. And it sure beats replacing the tubes every year, not to mention the energy savings leaving these on 24/7.

Stop the killing of the bugs. I will be out protesting this item unless I'm out protesting for something else.

Incense works. You don't need these specialized or flavored types of incense. Buy the kind that Buddhist temples use and you're good. It can be used indoor but make sure there is airflow. It's not toxic but just irritating to the eyes in a confined area. If you're in a big room, not a problem.
Ahh yes! The ol' "Burning buddhist incense to kill mosquitoes while simultaneously inhaling smoke/particulates and potentially toxic chemicals" trick!

I bought one of these maybe a decade ago. It's still running even though it was covered outside for two years. Best use case is to take care of flies and aphids in your kitchen overnight.

I am curious about the smell of these indoor bug zappers. We had an outdoor one by the pool, and you could smell the bugs frying. It was bad.
