This 15.3 inch MacBook Air stands out as a lightweight everyday laptop with a big screen, strong keyboard, and solid build quality. The M4 chip and 16GB of memory make it appealing for web browsing, email, iMessage, FaceTime, and web apps, and the Costco price has been seen as low as $799.97 in store. The main drawback is the 256GB SSD, which fills up quickly for heavier storage needs. For buyers who want more room or plan to game, the nearby M5 and 512GB options keep coming up as the better fit.
Common Questions (3)
For web browsing, email, iMessage, FaceTime, and web apps, 256GB can be enough; one owner reported macOS at 25.8GB after updates and only 64GB used total with normal apps and messages. It gets tight faster if you keep lots of files, games, or large media locally.
If you want more storage or plan to game, the M5 13-inch with 512GB is a stronger buy for only about $50 more in one Costco comparison. The tradeoff is that this deal gives you the larger 15.3-inch screen at a lower price.
Yes, it has reportedly dropped to $799.97. That makes the 256GB configuration much easier to justify if you want the 15.3-inch model and can live with the smaller SSD.

The target consumer for this laptop doesn't really need more than 256 tbh, and if they do that's why there's options for higher storage configurations. If you need to web browse, type stuff, email, iMessage, FaceTime, work in web apps, etc this is an incredible laptop to do so, and you don't need extra storage for that. Screen is a great size, keyboard is great, build quality is great.
I'm not arguing that a $900 shouldn't come with more storage. I'm just pointing out how absolutely useless, unhelpful, and frankly irrelevant this comment is. I don't understand how you can have such hard feelings for a company. That kind of parasocial relationship is not healthy.
