Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea, they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in. The story unfolds on land, sea and air. Meanwhile, hundreds of small boats manned by both military and civilians are mounting a desperate rescue effort, risking their lives in a race against time to save even a fraction of their army.

Warner Bros is leaving digital copies out on many of their releases.

Great movie. I still don't own a blue ray player and never plan on getting one unless the price becomes reasonable. Not worth the upgrade imo to have to re-buy the hundreds of movies I own for a slightly higher quality picture.

I'm kinda with you.
I don't bother upgrading unless it's a movie I want & a worthwhile transfer, especially on the audio side.

I don't buy CN because of this.
He does not upgrade audio.

One of the worst war movies I've ever seen unfortunately. Outstanding cast, but Nolan dropped the ball.

What specifically was bad about it? I've heard the sound design is top notch and seems the critical reception was overwhelmingly positive.

You're saying bluray picture quality is only slightly better than DVDs?

Movie sucks. Over hyped and should have been called "Men waiting at the beach for two hours"

Did it look good? Yeah
When you call a movie the name of a famous battle, you expect the movie to be about the battle. They showed one part of the battle, the evacuation. No back story, nothing about how they ended up sitting on the beach for days. Worst of all and what is unforgivable is how they managed to sit on the beach for days. Nothing about the brave men who held off the Germans. Sure they had a few seconds here and there mentioning things but the entire movie was nothing but the beach and how small boats recused all those men.
Sure that is a big part of Dunkirk but only one part and all the hype about how good the movie looked and being in 70mm yada yada and they left out huge parts of the battle.
If you liked it... I'm not here to crap on your opinion. Enjoy the movie but to me it's like watching the movie "Midway" and only seeing the men on the island defending the beaches and leaving out the carrier battles Smilie
