I have the "brute" version. Works fine. Knipex twin grip works way better due to the slip joint. You get get the Icon version of it for $16 at harbor freight during the spring black friday sale active now for ITC and on friday for everyone else. The Icon twin grips work really well, I have the Knipex twin grips in 10" and 6" and the Icon in 8", I kind of like the adjustment mechanism better on the Icon.

Twin grips are magic. These are more "small lineman" pliers and they're worth the money, but you can get the engineer pliers-same pliers, but the branding isn't nearly as cool 😎

I have the black oxide version and they are amazing. I've tried some cheaper versions that have left me disappointed. I'm not usually one to spring for the name brand but stripped screws are always frustrating so it is worth having something that just works.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found them. The Icon's are not titled as screw extracting pliers. Just as push button slip joint pliers.

I've owned this plier, and many of their other variations, for nearly 10yrs. Fantastic product. I own them under "Engineer" brand which is the OEM company out of Japan. "Vampilers" is the rebrand, US based company, which pays for the rights to sell them here. When you need them, they come in real handy. For seized fastners/nuts, you will need heat or loose juice beforehand.

I have the engineer version of these. I restore old bikes as well as do a decent amount of hand work, and these have really come in clutch and saved my ass countless times.
