Expensive.

I bought the bigger brother, LS50 Meta. Not impressive at all, no bass, can't compare to cheap floor speakers.
If you want to give it a try, go ahead, it's Costco.

Looks sweet, but still rocking my Yamaha HS7's for almost 10 years w/ no issues. Worth the investment if you care about having nice studio monitor speakers.

The sound quality is fantastic. They aren't super bass heavy, and from reading reviews before purchase I expected to be quickly shopping for a sub, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'll probably get one eventually, but I don't see it as a pressing need.

Check out the summary from this review:

"My reference reviewing system cost about $100,000. I listen to over 100 different systems a year, ranging in price from $300 to $3 million. Generally speaking, as you go up in price, you pick up some qualities that you simply don't find at lower price levels. Bass is hard, dynamics are hard, low noise is hard, spatial reproduction is hard. Some of these systems are impressive and engaging. What KEF shows with the LSX II LT is that if you drop some requirements about 30hz bass and 110 db output capability and extreme linearity and low noise, things that are wonderful but maybe not essential, you can build an extremely musical audio system for under $1000. WOW!"

If you're in the market for a set of high fidelity, active bookshelf speakers around this price point, it'll be very, very difficult to beat this deal.

I got these for $599 back in 2025 same costco deal. Are they worth it? Hmmm debatable. Sound quality for me is great, it is very clear especially at low volume so no complaints. I think for $599+tax, they are pretty expensive and honestly not sure if its REALLY worth the price.

That said, I have seen these multiple times on sale since I bought them (I think it hit $599 again maybe 2-3 times since this post). This is the first time I've seen $500 and if you're in interested and price is no question I think the quality is worth it and I don't suspect it will drop even lower unless there's a new model coming out.

For context I also purchased a KEF Kube 8B subwoofer on ebay since and personal opinion there's like no need for the extra bass unless you're using it in a larger space.

Hope that helps anyone on the fence.

I'd say for desktop use, they are really boomy and impactful. I have to tune bass and treble way down to get not fatigued.
When I get shot at in Battlefield 6, my body physically feel the impact, from those speakers.
These are absolutely fantastic. Also amazing for music.

I bought these the last time they were on sale and have had them for a couple months. I didn't want to spent twice the amount for the version with RCA inputs so I bought a digital to analog converter and my turntable sounds great. I live in an apartment with neighbors so I don't feel the need to add a sub right now. Free returns with Costco, so give them a try!

Excellent price for the speaker, but there are better speakers for the price, even from KEF.

Identical (audio wise) to the much more expensive lsx 2. Same drivers and same Amp. They made some changes to be more affordable. No cloth outer covering, no analog input and you need a usb cable (included in kit) connection between units. If you don't want or need those features, then these are hard to beat at $499.
