It's seems like a lot of Ridgid stuff has been cheaper than 'similar' Ryobi varieties in these past few months.

If you're patient Ridgid is the value king. They don't have the greatest variety of tools but they have everything important. Due to their relationship with Milwaukee they aren't usually the most powerful and they don't have the most features, but they're reliable and pretty close to being as good as the pro brands. They have by far the most affordable batteries and a ton of sales that make their tools super affordable. They've been like that since I first started buying them 5 years ago.

Yeah I got the 4 tool brushless kit when it was $215 a couple years ago and then have filled it out as deals on bare tools popped.
I also got that Subcompact drill and impact kit when it was hacked to $77 and I really like that Sub stuff.

You can also get a Ridgid to Ryobi or brand x battery adapter from eBay for around $20. It will allow you to use the larger range of Ryobi tools. All it is, is a plastic topper with rerouted metal contacts to match Ryobi's batteries.

I still have a lot of Ryobi tools that I'm prefectly happy with like the vacuums, nailer, inflators, hybrid light, inverter, sprayers etc. so I'm not getting rid of the batteries or messing with janky adapters.

It's more the 'working' tools that I switched over to Ridgid; the saws, recips, grinders, impacts and drills are those ones that so much better than their Ryobi counterparts.
