There's still just enough meat to keep me around for the occasional golden egg, but SD is certainly a shell of it's former self. Mostly just chinese amazon shills, mild at best deals and reposts.
Depending on how much oil you go through, Pennzoil is running a $30 rebate on two 5 quart jugs of their Ultra Platinum. You can get 10 quarts for less than this deal.
$3 regular price is Frontpage material nowadays... 🙄

This is what I did. After the rebate, each 5qt of Ultra Premium from Walmart came out to $12. My car takes 6qt, so I got 2 single quarts from Napa who had the Ultra Premium on sale for $7.50 each. Combined with the $5 off new NAPA rewards accounts made a total of 6qts $17. Slick enough for me.

Costco or any off brand is good if you change your oil at 3k intervals
The Warren made stuff (Kirkland, Supertech, Amazon) is perfectly fine for the API SP level of projection, they just don't pay for certification logos (ie, Dexos). Project Farm, Motor oil geek and multiple others on YT/forums have tested the oils for durability.
Normal driving conditions, the oil will last 8k+ miles. 3k oil change is excessive, even for basic brands unless you only do short grocery runs. Changing out the oil filter would be more beneficial than pretending modern synthetic oil degrades like 1980s conventional motor oil.
You do you, but at least spare others from needlessly wasting time/money.

If anyone was really curious on the differences between the new standard, watch this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F...hwb
But if you can target $15-20 per 5qt jug that's probably worth a deal. The $30 rebate from Pennzoil puts it approximately in this range.

I was at Costco 2 days - it was regular price.

If you want oil that will extend longevity (even more), you want API SQ rating. Mobil 1 is now SQ, for example.
