I'm not lifting heavy or anything, but I'll happily pay another $20, (or 30, 40, 50) for a bench that will fit me more comfortably and doesn't have scary reviews about weld failures in use.

FWIW I've heard decent things about Flybird as a budget weight bench Definitely a bit more expensive but not crazy. However, they have a lot of models so it's not easy to choose.
