As long as you're sitting far enough from (around 30" to 36" from the screen). I switch from a 42 in to a 32-in and love it much more.

I tried a 42" C5 as a monitor and used it for less than a day before I packed it up. Too many compromise and text fringing is an issue.

Been using 48" CX OLED as a monitor ever since it very first came out, so that's several years. It has 17,607 hours on it and has slight ghosting, but other than that it's been problem free. I should maybe do pixel refresh but it's not enough to bother much.

Agreed about definite compromises. Besides the text, i have a few gripes. It slowly dims the display even if you have the screen brightness very low or even extremely low unless a certain percentage of the screen changes. (With spreadsheets, writing... It's annoying.)
A second issue is I can't seem to find away to adjust color temp in game mode. I'm pretty sure it's a non-issue and I can just use a different mode and adjust it.
A third issue is it won't auto turn on when a computer input turns on. I know there was/is some option on github by someone who can get to happen in a complicated way but ehh, I've lacked enough motivation to do it for 2 years now. Plus, who knows if a Windows update will break something and I'm starting all over.
A fourth, I wish it had one display port. That'd be nice.

Still, I stuck with it anyway and I'd do it again.

For me the diagonal dithering really messed with my eyes (it's a thing on the 4th and 5th generations) and that made it an absolute no go. Besides what you mentioned, the uneven colors got to me as well. They're beautiful for watching movies, but just not great for PC usage.

I'm looking forward to LG's new RGB pixel OLEDs (just monitors for now I think.)

Great deal. But unfortunately it is unavailable near me. Also I'm pretty sure the refresh rate on C5 is 144 Hz, which makes it fantastic for consoles and even PCs.
