I wouldn't call it worst phone of 2026, but it's definitely slow, it lags out of the box, however phone doesn't look cheap, it's a nice looking phone and the screen is beautiful, I'm waiting for Moto Edge 2026 hopefully they bring something good this year.

Can I pay for the month then wait the 11b for it to unlock? Does Metro charge for anything like that? I'm hoping to avail an iPhone deal from them but don't want to take a chance.

Porting from Helium to Metro will NOT work (most likely - both are on TMobile's network). In the past Google Voice has worked well.

I would hope so, since the S25 FE is over triple the price of the A17. (Unlocked, MSRP pricing, for comparison.)

One month of service would work, but you still have to wait 365 days after activation.

Unlock eligibility requirements from Metro by T-Mobile's site
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date.

I have several phones from metro by mobile. If o lucky it unlock by itself after 1 yr. Most of the time it doesn't unlock, I tried calling and they say they'll request it to unlock but it still didn't happened. From my experiences, it's hit or miss with the unlock.
