This is one of the new RGB stripe monitors I've been looking for.

How is this better than the first gen qd-oled ultrawides like the AW3423dw? Higher refresh rate? Is the subpixel layout better for non gaming? Seems like the price premium is high for very little added value.

Look into what 5th-gen Tandem QD-OLED technology offers. Text clarity being improved is one benefit.

cant remember everything correctly but i think it can reach 1300 nits peak brightness in one of the modes. overall brightness has improved from 400 to 450-500 nits. Biggest tangible benefit is vertical sub-pixel layout so that text looks same or similar to non-oled screen. and probably there isn't text fringing like the aw3423 panel.. so good for office work.

oh man I jumped on this been waiting for a while. 360HZ, screen is less likely to scratch when cleaning, better pixel layout, longer lasting. Blacker blacks in light. This is the screen!!!! The ASUS is $1300!!!
