Personally I would skip this one.I dont want to snap my knifes onto a piece of metal like this. They make these that have a thin layer of wood over the magnets to protect things, and they look nicer. It probably doubles the cost though to inset the magnet strip and then cover it with more wood.

Edit: is not even that much more. Looking on amazon there are a ton of options in this price range. I would say NO to this one.

Possibly a better option, just look for yourself there are LOTS of them in this price range. I dont see how this is a SD at all.

Mine's coming tomorrow. it's only .86 inch thick so think about putting a strip of wood or some spacers under it or your knuckles will hit the wall when grabbing larger knives.
