If it's like the 400, you can get the aftermarket(non OEM) filters for cheap on Amazon.

Thank you! Are the copycat replacements from no-name companies any good? There seem to be quite a few on sale for around $30/2 on Amazon. Here's one random example: https://a.co/d/0cA82JGu

I use a 4 pack of HVAC filters duct taped together to form a box. Carboard on the bottom. Box fan on the top. The fan is orientated to suck air in through the filters. All and all its' 20 bucks for the filters which are 1 time use but last a long time, 20 bucks for the fan, which is resuable, and about 5 bucks in duct tape every time I want to make a new one. Looks janky but works awesome.

Your filter solution is not catching the particulates these devices are advertising to do. Not saying it's a bad option, because like you mentioned the price but it's limited functionality

They do have there purpose, but they aren't replacement for a good air purifier.Your setup just isn't going to be able to capture the fine particles. If visible dust particles is your concern, then that is doing its job very well for very cheap.
