I have one like this. They work ok but if you have a larger/heavy cat may sway more than normal.
My last cat was middle size/light so not to bad.

It's a great price for a large tree, but it's pretty...spartan. Those flat, unpadded upper platforms look particularly sad. The things my cats enjoy most in their trees are, in order, the bowl, fluffy beds with a ridge around them, and the hammock. This has none of those, and if your cat doesn't enjoy it, it's not slick.

I agree about the upper platforms looking sparse. I have a different brand and my cat loves the fluffy beds with a ridge around them, but she is 14. This tree looks like it would work for a young pair of cats who are on the leaner side since it's pretty tall.

Mine are 4 months, so plenty of energy to rocket to the top and back, but when it's time for a nap, everybody loves soft.

Got this around the same price a few months ago. As others have posted, this is fine for younger/ smaller cats. Be sure to secure to a wall if yours are rambunctious. Our 1 1/2yr old male is not a large cat, but just barely fits on the rimmed pad, wish it was just a couple inches wider. He only use it to take naps on the top of the top box, or the rimmed pad, we didn't even install the 2 non-rimmed pads.

I have basically the same model as this from whatever company in China pounds them out before they're sold by like a thousand different Amazon vendors, and $35 is a great deal for one. Mine's 9 years old and doing fine, other than the topmost tower having a bit of a Tower of Pisa lean due to two fat cats sitting in it every day. That and the bottom scratching post is long since gone, which might be worth the $35 just to replace that part.

While the top levels are not as sturdy, this is a great deal for a cat tree! Going to the local Pet Supplies Plus, smaller trees of equal quality are $80 "on sale." If I needed one for my cat I'd jump on this!

We don't have this particular model, but similar.
Word of advice: figure out some sort of safety strap to keep this from falling over. Our cats managed to knock it over onto one of the other cats. Thankfully he started breathing again after a minute or two, but it was inches from breaking his neck.
