I have the corded version and wish I had saved my money. Switched to an 8" DeWalt chainsaw and it is vastly more useful. Much more powerful and the batteries fit my other tools

This plus the extention is amazing. Don't sleep on the extention. Still weary of using the battery operated one. I have the plug in. The battery I am afraid wouldn't be as powerful

Handy for small jobs. Have owned one for years and it's been great. No issues. Works fine with battery. Get the extension.

Oh snap I've been using one of these (plug-in version) for the last week or so chopping up fallen branches and small trees on our property. I finally threw the chain off and put it back on today but then threw it off again on some vines that were still soft and gummed it up. Hoping to use it all morning tomorrow and will try to post an update.

Thought it was a joke, didn't buy it myself, but have been very impressed. EXTREMELY useful for my exact use case, not a legit replacement for a more serious chainsaw that you can use for almost anything.

I bought the corded B+D Alligator many years ago and it is awesome, but in my quest to go full-battery I bought the B+D 20V version and it is nowhere near as good as the corded. I would suspect that this is also true of the JawSaw. Having said all that, I bought a 20V JawSaw some years ago because I do a lot of yard cleanup that requires cutting small branches and it is honestly one of my favorite garden tools - and I have a lot of them. I have almost half a dozen battery mini chainsaws, and of course large battery chainsaws, but I use the 20V JawSaw more than all the others combined. One thing to keep in mind, do NOT push the tool too hard. I did that once and there must be a thermal fuse inside because there was a puff of smoke and the tool died on me. I bought a new one about 3 or 4 years ago and now I'm more careful about knowing its limits. The main advantage for me is that as long as the branch is on the ground, I can cut it one-handed standing up, the tool will pull the branch into the machine, this really takes the load off of my bad back, the Alligator always requires two hands to operate.

Great for use on the ground... too bulky and heavy for use overhead.

That is actually pretty cool and people seem to say it works well for what it is. If it was a bit cheaper I would buy it but for now I'll just lug around the chainsaw and sawhorses

I'm guessing this is more useful as a tree trimmer than anything else..?

This isn't meant to trim overhead. You cut down large branches with a regular chainsaw or branch cutter. When on the ground, you can chop up the branches VERY quickly without worrying about the chain hitting cement/dirt/etc.

Seems pretty cool. I'm not liking there's another moving part to this equipment. Standard chainsaw is just the chain going round and round. This you have that "tongue" saw part moving back and forth. Less parts, less parts to break.
