Listened to this last year. Good book if you are into anthropology and social psychology.

I sure do. I'm also looking forward to the whining that always finds itself on deals on this author's books. There's hate, just wait.

Fwiw, I liked this book.

Great use of Amazon Digital Shipping Credits. Just wish the audio narration wasn't $20 more.

Huh, guess I'm not in the know on the hate. I enjoyed this book as well.

Just so everyone knows, among actual anthropologists this book is widely considered to be shit. Harari does not have expertise in this topic and on almost every page makes unsubstantiated claims about domains of human evolution that we literally have no empirical data for. He is one of the post-2000s brand of TED Talk academics who stumble into a fad topics and write a pop science books about it, do a huge media/podcast blitz on that topic, and then stumble onto the next topic. He's currently doing the same thing with "AI and humanity".

Exactly my thoughts every time I hear him speak. The media doesn't help as well

Yeah. From what I read about his thoughts and opinions, he is full of shit. Says whatever is needed to sell. Says what everyone wants to hear this year and 180 degrees next year if that sells. Claimed he just got more learned and other bs.

Liking his book is like liking what an entertaining friend who has 'out there' opinions is saying. It can be entertaining and you may think he has good points, but you know they are wrong back of your mind.

Little known fun fact - this moron pushed the idea that anything designed should make user addicted so much so that they can't turn off the phone /web site. If you are spending hours on useless online crap, it's partially thanks this imbicile That should tell you the level of his intelligence. Imo, he more than deserves the hate.

Finally he has zero authority in any subject. He used to be a UX designer. Unless he somehow figured out how to graduate in multiple disciplines in a short amount of time, all his writing is akin to a homeless man yelling at you about end of days.
