I remember seeing this movie at the theater and thinking it was terrible. I think this was when his career was starting to fade. This movie and Patch Adams were both box office bombs that year.

Patch Adams was successful, just critically hated. Made 200 million on like a 50 million budget.

Yeah, you're right. Back then anything over 100 million was really good. I was conflating both movies box office returns with what dreams may come which was a massive bomb at the time.
