FYI, you can buy adapters to convert batteries to other tool systems.

This is a good deal for $ per cell. This version of kobalt should be using 12 18650 cells. If you need 18650 cells for other projects, these should be samsung 20r cells and come to about $2.50 per cell. About half price for great cells! Two thumbs up!

Are these compatible with 20v hard tools? I can't find a specific adapter for these, and it looks like kobalt is the only one marketed as 24v.

Not sure, I would assume they handle up to 24V, but I'm no expert on electronics.

24 volts should not be a big issue to swap for most 18-20 volt tools. The tool may run just a bit faster.
