Milkweed plants help protect the diminishing Monarch butterfly population and create breeding habitats for Monarchs—all while providing food and shelter for other wildlife and pollinators. Planting Milkweed in monarch breeding areas is one way we can help grow the Monarch population.

If you plant this, it's probably best to limit it to pots or some sort of raised container where you can keep the roots from spreading. If you plant it in the ground, treat it like aggressive ostrich ferns and install a barrier to keep it contained. And for the sake of your neighbors, pull the seed pods before they spread millions of seeds...
