$110 is still overpriced. Other competing models are regularly $75-85 without even being on sale

So there are indeed Cheaper devices, but I would argue 2 things. The first is that Netgear has a certain quality standard because they have a warranty they stand behind. I'm not sure about this specific product, but most of their stuff has lifetime warranties, and I personally RMA a switch that's 15 years old. They didn't have that specific one anymore but sent me a newer one as a replacement. That's very nice to have. For my business, I mostly use Netgear because it's more of a PIA when something goes wrong than paying a little extra from a product that should last you a decade or more.

The second is sometimes cheap Chinese stuff (which I do sometimes use at home) can be sketchy. I got a POE++ switch from a generic brand that advertises like 200watts of POE++ power. It works, but it's powered by a standard barrel jack and sparks when I plug it in. Looking up the specification for the jack, and it's outside of spec. Does it work? Yes, I'm not using all available power, so during my normal operation, it's not an issue. Would it be an issue if someone were actually fully using it as advertised? Probably. On the flipside, I have a couple of POE powered outdoor poe switches that have been rock solid for 5 years so far. It's sometimes a crapshoot if they engineer the device well and if you don't want to have to be the test subject yourself, there's a benefit to paying the premium.

This. Was about to say the same. If I have an issue with the switch, I can very easily contact NETGEAR or TRENDnet or Ugreen etc and raise a claim. Not so with the Chinese sellers. Also, 10g and SFP+ switches can get quite hot. I plan on putting this in my attic as that is where my fiber terminates where there is very little airflow, so quality is important.
