The item listed on this deal kills around 200+ weed types and can be used on up to 16,000 sq feet.

There is another similar item from Spectracide that can kill 470+ weeds and crabgrass - can be used on up to 5000 sq feet. It is also on sale for $6. Not sure if one is better than the other, but thought of sharing the link here.

My parents backyard (dirt) is out of control with weeds. It's not a lawn but they do have an artificial lawn that has weeds coming out through the sides. What can we use to kill the current weeds and prevent them from coming back? She lives in a windy location so I assume that doesn't help.

The one with crabgrass is a stronger version, covers all weed types in this one and a few more, most importantly crabgrasses. Esp. when using the + crabgrass make sure not to burn your lawn with overspray and avoid when soil is >85-90 F.
