This is a face wash - you'd want micellar water & cotton rounds to remove make up

It works pretty well for me - I do a double cleanse with it & some micellar for mascara/waterline. Love that this doesn't dry my face out like other cleansers.

I think with heavy makeup you're going to want two cleansers no matter what. Philosophy and some other brands have "combination" or "one step" cleansers and I've had at best mid results with them. Or, at least, they're good products but they don't clean heavy makeup as well as a two-step regimen. (I really like the Philosophy microdelivery exfoliating daily facial wash, I sort of bounce between this and that.)

Currently I use an oil-based cleanser before if I'm concerned and I haven't had any problems (micellar water works well too I just already have this oil-based cleanser I was trying lol).

Anyone know how this compares to the La Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating gentle cleanser? I don't have dry or oily skin (more normal) but have been using the Toleriane cleanser most recently.

This one gives you a clean, no oil on your skin kind of clean. The other gives you a clean feel but has oil in it so you don't get a tight skin feeling. So, one is use the oils they provide in the soap or this one is use your own oils after (or don't).

I think that is mostly it.
