Not sure who needs to see this, but note that this model does not come with Remote ID neither built-in nor via firmware. So, if you need a Remote ID to register this drone for a Part 107 to use for work, you may need to purchase a third-party module to attach or install on the drone.

Is there a preferred seller on Amazon ? Went to buy and noticed it wasn't sold by Amazon . A seller with few ratings , checked other sellers and there are others with 700-800 ratings with same coupon .

Or is inventory still mixed in Amazon storage

Yes, this or the Neo/Neo 2. They have different purposes/feature sets so I don't think its fair to say the Mini (piloted video drone) or the Neo line (autonomous action cam/selfie drone) are better for all beginners (depends what you want to do).

I will say the Neo 2 with a controller (which makes it much more like the Mini) is an incredible all purpose beginner drone (and with obstacle avoidance is arguably the better beginner/entry drone). But when you add the controller and transmission module to its no longer in this price bracket.

Just bought a new DJI Mini 4k last time it went on sale. After its first couple of flights, the drone went vertical and would not respond to commands on the left stick. It basically just goes up to maximum height. RTH sometimes will force it to return. Other times it will not allow it. Once landed, I see this message when I try to take-off again, "Throttle control stick off-centered. Ensure throttle control stick remains centered during auto takeoff." I have re-calibrated the controls multiple times. It will work for another flight and then shoot straight up again. Any suggestions? Maybe just buy another one and return the 1st one.

I live in Utah and recently bought the Neo 2. It's a very versatile drone and can be used entirely by hand, or with a controller (or via the DJI App). I ran in the rugged Amasa Back trail in Moab with winds of 20-25mph and all video looks exceptional. It's a fantastic option for everything, the Mini 4K is great but has no object detection to help keep it from crashing into things. The videos created using it are glorious though.

Neo and Neo 2 are quite different. Neo 2 has Lidar as well as object sensing technology. I would call the Neo 2 the most beginner friendly advanced beginner drone you'll find. I taught my 5 year old how to use mine, as you can control it entirely by your hands. Whether flying 20m or following you doing whatever (I had it following him riding his bike, and many other various follow me possibilities). It's crazy how fast it is and how close you can have it follow you and avoid trees, trash cans on the roads, parked cars etc etc....
