I have one of these and it's a great starter drone. I got mine from someone who has a ton of drone piloting experience over several drones and he said this is probably the high end best bang for the buck for a noob. I'm an amateur myself and found it pretty easy to get it in the air. The hardest part is the prep with creating a DJI account and the setup process. Just note it doesn't have collision avoidance so it will let you fly it into a tree or whatever. The next step up "Pro" model does but it costs way more than this.
Recommend getting a case and additional battery or two. Don't recommend the blade guards. Got them to fly indoors but feel it's too big to safely play around inside the house.
Every DJI drone that has been release up until early this year is fine. It's new DJI drones being sold going forward that are at risk of not receiving FCC approval.
So what brand is a good replacement for DJI then? Ive been thinking of getting a drone but not sure how much i'd actually use it compared to the cost. Also trying to keep up with FAA rules could be too much hassle. If I end up getting one.. what are the brands to look at?
They're not banning current DJI products, they are banning them from introducing new products.
Have been using Mini 2 for over 2 years, bought so many Mini 2 and similar aircraft broken that I have repaired and flipped. I do believe this is very good deal and just brought one for myself as it got so much value compare to Mini 2. I bought refurbished Mini 2 Flymore combo from DJI website directly for $300, that was 2 years ago so it's indeed worth it since this controller itself is $150-$200 value even Used.
I already have a mini without the screen but this is so tempting since I have having to faf about with my phone. Anyone made the switch here and share their experience? Worth the "upgrade"? Drawbacks?
It's been 5 years since I used mine which after an update the drone flew out of sight and crash. Took me 3 hours to locate it. Thank God nothing was damaged.
