RAM is not upgradable... Further making this warm at best
This is an answer to the now-compelling Macbook Neo. Snapdragon is also a mobile chip, and mobile chips have that ram soldered for speed and unification. Unlike the Macbook Neo:
  • This has 16GB memory.
  • This has a backlit keyboard
  • This is 40% dimmer.
  • Neo has more pixels in resolution on their 13" display.
  • Neo has all aluminum chassis.
Seems compelling enough. I mean, I'm not replacing my Neo, but, I can see why it has to be $200 cheaper than one.

I feel the same way, but my students always have their laptops on super dim settings, so I guess some people feel differently...

Just like every laptop deal thread, ever. It gets old with so many comments like "if only this", or "needs that" or "I want the same for cheaper (when it is not gonna be for quite some time)".

Imagine how hard it is to get your dream machine for a dream price. Either settle and compromise a little, or order one to your specs and pay closer to retail.

Or wait until your personal unicorn hits the deal posts. Just don't hold your breath.
Nearly unheard of to tick every box for all of us on any laptop deal posted, especially a budget-priced one. I get it completely. My observation is there are always complaints.

So many just come in to whine about what is already listed. I know that putting your opinion about stated specs is common. But maybe your needs are much more high-end than the majority, like I've witnessed here.

Your idea of brightness, resolution, hard drive space, touch screen, RAM minimums, et al, will vary from other folks' needs or wants.

How many perfectly specced laptops (in your opinion) for a super price have you seen on SD? If you're like me, not a bunch. But plenty of good deals on decent units that I could settle for if I needed one. Lucky for me I have plenty at the moment. I settled for a nice Chromebook with great specs for the money that was posted here a while back. My first, and it gets me by just fine. If only it were a Windows machine. LMAO.

Why is putting a mobile processor in a laptop becoming a trend? Isn't that what tablets are for?

It's not a mobile processor just because it's named SnapDragon. It's a full blown ARM CPU For laptops just like Apple silicon M series for MacBooks

They are solid processor. these are not mobile processors. Snapdragon X series is for laptops and their specs are really competing with Macs.. just search online...

look at some reviews

In a 2 month old review, the reviewer posted that they got this one for 350. If that's true, then this doesn't seem like a deal.
