I worked at an AR-15 manufacturer some years back. I can't remember exact prices, but if you ordered a rifle directly from us you were paying over $100 more than if you ordered the same gun from some of the big online dealers.
Because they have to be able to sell it at a much better price than us to incentivize them to make the >100 unit orders to sell in their shops and websites.
So never go off of the manufacturer's website for price comparison if its items that they sell at big box stores/sites.
