This if for folks who don't have health insurance and they need to do blood work then it would cost quite a bit, but Quest has this program QuestCare [questdiagnostics.com]: ( http://www.questdiagnostics.com/b...terms.html )

May not be available in all the state or city, however, it's 1 yr $10 fee and Blood draw would be $5 and you need to have your doctors script for your blood work and e.g basic CBC and BMP would cost around $12 to $14 compare to $80 to $100..

Obamacare
Yes, the end is here. And this program is in direct response to Obamacare. Makes sense.

Oh yeah! I agree 100%!

I was so much happier paying $100 via my insurance or $140 for the same procedure if I was unemployed (since insurance gets a discount) versus this $10.

Insurance is required in this country, and Quest will give you a discount if you lack insurance. Quest is the new health insurance SS.

Funny thing is that you are probably paying Quest more than they get from Medicare. Health reform should have been mandating transparency in cost and reimbursements to make healthcare affordable for people rather than requiring insurance.

Not bad at all, I just had bloodwork, paying $13.xx for the results of liver function tests and kidney tests from it AFTER insurance... so if you don't have insurance, at least this is excellent secondary prevention to get treatment before the real problems start.

TU and repped. I'm a young healthy professional with full insurance, but I'm willing to give up some (increase of income tax dare I say?) if the money will go to the right cause like universal healthcare in this country. Because ppl may b!tch about it, but you end up paying for it one way or another. It may as well be transparent IMO.
