I picked up one of these about a week ago for this price. I got it because I was so incredibly disappointed with the Meater+ I got for Christmas. The Meater+ is the worst probe and app I have ever used.
This device has been great, their prediction algorithm is much better than Meater. The range has been good, and I appreciate that the device can be used without your phone. It won't give you as much data, but you can still see the temps on the device itself.
The real game-changer is the 5 temperature sensors inside the meat. So it can automatically find the mid-point if you overshoot it.
I did struggle to get the app installed from Thermomaven, though. Google thought it didn't support my phone on Android 13, so I had to side-load it from APKpure. Worked great after I got it installed.
Overall, no regrets. Hopefully it lasts, there were many Amazon reviews where people were showing off their broken devices.

It works. If you are using the app, make sure you press the -> button after you finished entering the code.

Sweet this is actually solving a problem I have... tonight made a chicken curry trying braising for the first time using my slickdeals bobbie flay dutch oven but managed to noticeably overcook the chicken to 201*F. It's so annoying to spend an hour cooking something to have a subpar result. I also see this being useful with sourdough bread bake days, as well as for air fryer/pan frying and baking.

Had $10 in amazon gift card credit thanks to a cashback site, $3 in amazon points so walking out the door with this for $41. Will be fun to see how this gets used.

I love mine, one of the probes stopped working after only a few uses, and that really worries me, but their customer support is really good and took care of it.

Why buy these if you can get a quality ThermoWorks probe system that actually works perfectly, almost forever?
I will never buy an overpriced Thermoworks product again. Hype is fake on those. My MK4 wasn't accurate and my smoke quit working. Support was awful and only offered a discount on a new one, which would cost more than their current sale price. Learned my lesson with that company.

I got one from this brand, pretty similar to this one and returned it because the probes are to thick. For something like fish, burgers or steak < than 1 inch it will be really difficult.
I haven't found a wireless one that can work for smaller cuts.

hey knowledgeable thermometer people:
i have a thermoworks thermopop v1 that is well fine... its a bit slow to get a reading but never had it fail.
is the ThermoMaven HT04 worth picking up for $10 on another slickdeal as an upgrade? seems faster, instant on, magnetic. thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps it is comparable. Personally, I prefer proven professional-grade equipment. YMMV. Have you ever used ThermoWorks customer service many years after purchase? Or needed their nearly free calibration services? Best in the business. This superb remote probe is currently $70, a steal https://www.thermoworks.com/products/smoke. I have had it for 15 years. The legendary DOT is now $30. https://www.thermoworks.com/products/dot. Buy 2. The in-every-professional-kitchen Thermapen is now $74You're probably right, I may be on the wrong forum, thought this was for people seeking quality products at fair prices.
I have a ~12ish year old knock off amazon Thermapen. It's been really solid and has a magnet that lets it stick to my fridge or grill which I love.Bought a thermopen when I got my smoker about a year ago. The knock off consistently reads within .2° of the thermopen. I have a smoke x2 I got at the same time as well and those probes have been inaccurate vs the thermopen and the knock off. It's weird. I picked up one of these ThermoMaven 3 months ago because I wanted wireless probes and it has been accurate when tested vs my thermopen and easy to use. Have used it in oven and smoker.Thermoworks are good but they aren't the end-all.

Dang it, code doesn't work with the 4 probe version :/. looks like a deal was available on that version a couple weeks ago. Will hold out for that to hopefully come back

Almost forever? Do you think it will work 500 years from now?

Yes, I opted for the upgraded version. There is a small nuclear power plant in mine that is fully fueled for the next 800 years Smilie. Note the nuclear-powered units are not Bluetooth compatible - hahahahaha
