Whether you need the extra channels or not, the Onkyo RZ30 was on sale a month ago for $700, and it comes with Dirac Live room correction, and independent subwoofer outputs. I can't see a reason not to opt for an RZ30 unless you're already hard stretching your budget for this.

For those that get/have this, highly recommend looking into the Editor app for $20 and or A1EVO Express which is free!
Especially since this only has XT.

Haven't been in the market lately to know if this is a good deal these days but I've had this receiver for a year now and it's worked great, only minor complaint is that I frequently have to force close and reopen the app to get it to switch inputs, but once it reconnects it works very well and also controls my Fire TV stick, overall a much smoother HDMI CEC experience than my previous receiver.

I went with Denon as there appear to be build issues with Onkyos randomly. Not worth the peace of mind for me.

With the advent of A1EVO, Dirac is no longer as advantageous as before.
Especially since the included Dirac(Dirac Live) doesn't include their subwoofer/bass room correction(DLBC), that's an extra $300.

IF 80 watts is all that's needed for 95% of us as OP proclaimed.
You're overpaying an extra $200 with zero difference in use case.

I have had no issues owned the RZ50 for a while and also owned other PAC AVR's the Pioneer LX805 and now the Integra 8.4

I did have also have a warranty replacement Marantz 7015 that was a legit straight up failure

In my opinion...you are better off reading accounts from actual owners who have owned their products for a while on places like AVS forum versus hearsay on the internet

Adorama is selling some open box units right now..on Ebay for $712.50..with code

It says open box...but I am betting they are new in a sealed box and that is a work around due to some MAP rules

In any case, full factory warranty

The Dirac over Audyssey RC..especially in the XT format...is worth it for that difference alone , in my opinion

Yes, but sadly it won't do 144Hz which is what my C4 supports and I actually use.

My 3800 just popped a capacitor...we'll see how the warranty goes. Only other issue is ever had with a receiver was onkyo, the hdmi thing, well out of warranty. They sent me a box and took care of it quickly...A+.
