Do you know if that's 200 MB per game or per account?

Edit: It's 200 MB per game (https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/...s-of-files)

Funny that given that GOG is DRM-Free. I consider a 200mb save limit a small thing compared to other services

FYI, GOG quietly nerfed cloud saves to 200mb a while ago.

If you like having more than a handful of cloud saves, get ready to limit them or deal with sync issues or local-only. Anticonsumer as hell.

So silly question...I finally got around to getting an upgraded aftermarket high-mid gaming pc and kind of want to test it's limits a little... And start rebuilding my PC game library since I haven't played on pc in half a decade... I know these are older and I likely have half of them already but which would likely be the most graphics taxing so I can try to max out settings and see how well it holds up? Seems a nice cheap way to get back into PC gaming before getting any of the more expensive modern games 😜.

Wolfenstein games have been very "pretty". That and all the action happening with numerous enemies could be a test to keep high frames.

I ran into this after playing cyberpunk years after I last played. Those save files are huge and I had something like 10x the limit. It was terrible trying to sync saving.

Prey is amazing. The Mooncrash DLC is a game unto itself.

You should look for Control (2019), a now 7 year old game that looks absolutely fantastic and occasionally goes on sale for like 2-3$.

I built my current PC about a year ago, went "oh now I can play modern games," and Control is still one of the best looking and best playing games I've played since.

From that linked support post: "First and foremost we will delete unnecessary files – things that are not at all related to your game, but have found their way into the Cloud Save folder."This was almost certainly done to stop people from abusing their cloud save folder as free cloud storage. They probably had a small percentage of users hyper abusing it or some users hoarding save files to an extreme extent, but that probably was not the main issue. 200mb for save files per game is quite generous, I've never seen my folder get anywhere near that big for any game.

A feature they're giving you free out of the kindness of their hearts, is anticonsumer?

One option you could take is you could buy either Fallout 3 or Oblivion and then head over to NexusMods and I install a bunch of mods that make the games much more graphics intensive.

The benefit to this approach is you would have a very granular means to strike the perfect balance for you between performance and eye candy.

Isn't the whole point of GOG to be completely DRM free/offline without dealing with anything cloud/drm related lol.

If you want cloud saves/DRM/telemetry there is plenty of other stores to buy from, honestly surprised they even offer this

I dont think any of these will be particular taxing as-is, but as other posters suggested, adding graphic mods will certainly get them to a point where it could be a good test, and the game Control would be another excellent choice for cheap, stunning visually and highly regarded story line.

What setup do you have? Resolution will make a big difference on how difficult the components need to work also
