A beginners paddle with graphite fiberglass surface, which means it won't grab onto the ball as well as carbon fiber, which is fine for those who just hit the ball flat, but when you graduate to wanting to add spin, then this paddle will disappoint. It's also an elongated shape, which is great for two-handed backhands, but prolly awkward for beginners.

Just about the cheapest entry point to buying a paddle. Even if it lasts you a month, it will give you a chance to try out your upcoming addiction to pickleball. Excellent recreational player paddles can be had in the $70-$100 range once you graduate for this. I am pretty sure I spent more on a 2/$25 set off Amazon for my 6 and 4-year-olds.
