Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

If you purchase the phone in full, the trade-in credit shows up as one amount, and you can request credit back to your credit card; that's how it worked last year. Not sure about it this year as I moved to another state where Spectrum has no service, so no way to try

Once I signed in it seems to let me pay $699 in full for the 26+ and also get the $720 back for my trade in. When I sign out the old info is there about it needing to be new residential customers. Also no additional money off for the s26 when signed in only the 26+ and Ultra. Makes me consider the Ultra. Never had a phone that big before. Will be interesting to see if this is real.

Bill credits over 36 months. "Any promotional credits offered will be reflected over 36 mos on the bill statement." Spectrum mobile is pretty good service (qci8 Verizon) though, so a good deal for those planning to stay with them.
Unless things have changed, you get the full promo amount without 36 months of bill credits if you pay in full upfront. I did this before with Charter/Spectrum, and I received all credits and had the phone unlocked in about a month or so.

Is this for mobile customers? I had Spectrum and I liked it, but it isn't available at my new address, but I kept the phone line. Also, is there a list of phones that can be traded in? I tried adding an S24 and it says that it is not accepted.

So whats the deal if you do this in store if you are an existing Internet customer and then want to ditch spectrum at any point?. Does it automatically unlock after 60 days regardless if you have service or not or you have to have an active account?. Also does this require giving them your SS# like a contract for service even if you are paying in full upfront? Thx

And we'll get the trade-in value back to our card? An agent online told me we'll get 700 as promotional credit / discount over time.

I just started the free line about 2 weeks ago. I had paid the phone off in full, so it seems to be eligible for the upgrade. I'm wondering if I can trade in the A16 I got for the $700 credit and basically get the S26+ for the cost of the tax. Two weeks ago, it required you to be a brand new internet customer to get the extra $400 off.

Repped for the Ultra. I just moved to TX from PA in January. So I signed up for Spectrum Gig Internet when I moved.
With this deal I got a years worth of Phone Free. They waived activation fee. And I got $780 trade for my Pixel 8 Pro.
My Mint Mobile was due in 2 days so perfect timing! Instead of paying $120 for a 3 month renewal with them I get my Phone Line free for a year and free phone with trade in!
Curious about the credits. Read the comment that you can pay your phone off, get a lump sum credit, and applied to credit card. Will try that as it's my preference. Thanks for posting.
