This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.
I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.
Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.
In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)
On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.
So all in was $59.92.

I already traded in a motoG on my free line for S26 Ultra.
Traded in another motoG for S26 on line 2 ($20 by the gig)
If the deal is correct above for the s26 ultra, I would "upgrade" line 2 with new deal S26 Ultra?
After 60 days on free line s26 ultra and line #2 S26 request unlock?
Below is the S26+

I was going to do that but I just purchased online as I didn't have an activation fee and I had a year worth of mobile plan free as I signed up for Gig Internet a few months ago. Didn't want to risk it by losing the free mobile as that saves a few hundred a year. Sucks though that I will only get the trade-in value as monthly credit but oh well.

1. Can you elaborate on the trade-in process in-store?
2. Would you (or anybody) happen to know anything about the free one-year mobile service?
Does this go towards the 60 day unlock policy? Or does it have to "paid" service in order to count?
I did a test cart online and it shows that I qualify for a free full-year since I never had mobile service (only been using them for internet)?
Here are the terms:
Thanks!

I figured I would at least have the phone/line a year so I don't care so much that the trade rebate is in monthly credits.
