Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

For TX, I think you got charged sales tax on the $400 discount of the phone. Not sure how Spectrum structured the discount but it seems like it's an after tax credit instead of a pre-tax discount off the retail price.
That's what it looks like to me! Then there are some other taxes on there but that might be included in the $20 line charge. Glad that they are taxing the $400 vs 1100 or the 700.

I'm in California and I've always paid tax on the full amount every single year no matter if it's in store or online

Btw i tried an 26 ultra removed from my account to try to add a new line and it instantly recognized it and denied me with the same error message.
Honestly I dont think Karma_Joy successfully traded in any s26 directly for an s26 unless it was across two different accounts. This is why you hear absolutely zero success stories from anyone else except karma Joy. He's either just trolling and stringing everybody along or not telling the entire truth.
I suspect trading an S26 for an iPhone and then an iPhone for an Ultra would work but there has to be the in-between trade or perhaps a secondary account that you're trading the s26s on. The reason is because The system recognizes that you've already obtained a promotion to get the S26 and immediately stops you from trying to get in to get anything else S26 related.
I mean let's be realistic. In a thread with thousands of thousands of views and everyone and their mom across the United States getting these S26 phones... It would be statistically impossible for not one other person to tell me that they were successful in trading in S26 directly for another variant of an S26 on the same account.
In any case my account is giving a fraud flag now which is very sad so I can't even open new lines and I only have four lines on my account. I did three upgrades got blocked from the fourth one. Went back the next day still blocked and I couldn't even add lines also blocked with the same error message telling me that I need to shop online instead
He did say that his tradein is from pre-order, which is outside of 14 days return. Anyone here tested?

Yes, doing multiple transactions in store will raise the flag. It's best to do all in one transaction (up to 20).

Metro is so hit or miss and so unreliable. Some couldn't use specific browsers. Some, after your first phone order, you can only order through that phone. On that phone it could not let you order with your wifi line so you would switch to the phone's wifi. Or it would just deny any phone purchases after the first purchase. I did this earlier this year and just got frustrated after the first phone purchase, so I purchased two tablets to be done with them. This also doesn't help with how horrible their site is in general. If you get the deny message, you would have to cycle either to another browser or another device. Don't even get me started with some cards just being auto rejected even though they were a first time customer.
When I get the order doesn't go through I call and it's usually pretty easy. Got an iphone 13 and iphone 16e last time. Stocked up on Moto G Stylus 2025 for $30 a piece a couple of months ago. Crazy that they aren't worth more than the moto g play for this trade in but not complaining. Very easy to port from Spectrum to Metro but as always, no guarantee it will go smoothly.

This is a heck of a deal guys. Existing customer with 2 lines (me and wife). She traded in her Galaxy S23 and received $790 credit and got the phone for $1.50. I traded in my Pixel 7 and received around $720 and got this phone for about $76. All in all spent less than a hundred dollars for 2 new phones paid in full. Was super easy and quick. Highly recommended if you have Spectrum.
You did it in store?

Someone else posted last night they were able to do trade an s26+ for an Ultra but had to open a second line. Can't remember the details. So many posts information gets lost. I believe Karma Joy. They just got lucky as it was early on the first day of the new promotion.

Oops I am sorry. 20 lines but no free, only 1 free. For WiFi router, I bought TP-Link Archer C4000 MU-MIMO AC4000 routter from eBay 3 years ago for $40 and it is working well for me with Spectrum internet. I am using WiFi heavily with 11 security cameras, video streaming, etc.
Have same router. Works well for me too.

Oops, my bad. This was ultra for ultra. Sorry. Ultra for s26+ would have gotten me $480 back, but I wanted at least 1 Ultra for myself.

I'll see if I can fix that typo on my previous comment. Thanks for catching it 😅🙏
You are welcome. You have a lot going on!

I did put everything and yes, clicking the greyed out button doesn't work lolWith that said, I think it's an issue with my account because right now I cannot buy any phone online at all, going to call them tomorrow and see what's up
Thanks for information. Good luck.

For those who want to cancel internet after the first month, pretty sure if you cancel your internet, they do let you keep your mobile line but it is no longer free and it is $40 (maybe $50) a month. Don't think the idea that you can cancel the internet and keep the "free" line for $10 a month will work.

That doesn't show online, but must be a limited mobile plan, which will work since I am not planning on using the phones. $20 mobile plan for 60 days is a win!Thank you!
No, it must be online too. That line is called by the gig. So far when trade-in online, I never add a new line; but in-store they added me 3 new lines of $20 per month. It is there in the checkout process, guarantee.

Has anyone tried trading in an S26 for an S26+ or an S26 Ultra online? Does the $1100 promotion apply to that trade-in?
