Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

Not sure if this has affected anyone else but their online system seems to be glitching. After payment, my receipts/order status/emails don't show any evidence of the additional $700 trade in promos. Seems to have just disappeared on 2 separate orders.
Called and chatted with customer service and they don't have my trade-ins on record. They created a ticket so we'll see.
Same issue for me as well. Were you able to get a resolution?

Chat or call customer service agent to reprovision the previous PSIM. I used my SIM card to switch 6 different S25 phones under 1 free line to activate them and same for S26 too. It happens to me many times when the in-store agents forced activation on esim. Then I called or chatted with agents to reprovision the old SIM card back. Chat for this issue is the best because some agents were clueless on this.
Does each device need to stay active on that free line for 60 days, or does only the line need to remain active for 60 days? Could I then switch the SIM into different phones on the 61st or 62nd day and request a CSR to unlock them?

Last year none of my 6 S25 were active on my free line for 60 days. Probably 2 days was the most; but eventually I was able to unlock all of them successfully. Per some previous posts, that person deleted all his $20 lines and move all S25 into the free line when it is time to request unlocked and was successful unlocked all of them; but other person said he wasn't able to unlock his S25 by doing that and eventually he complained on the FTC website, then spectrum had to unlock it for a courtesy reason. Based on my experience, you need at least one line active all the time (free line) and the phone doesn't need to be active on the line for 60 days. Don't rely on me and don't blame me for what you decide to do to unlock your phone. Last year I bought and unlocked all 6 S25 under 1 free line within 3 or 4 months and a lot of people did that too. I used my old Motorola edge plus on my free line all the time. For each S25, I bought it under free line and activated it and shelved it. When it is time to activate it, put sim card in it and requested unlocked through chat or phone.

I've been getting all my phones unlocked at 60 days from purchase/activation on my free line for the past 3 years. I just make sure I have the SIM card in each phone at 60 days while I'm chatting with spectrum.

You had a physical sim? Not sure how you get one of those since spectrum doesn't give it unless not esim capable.

all you have to do is ask nicely while they activate your new phone. tell the rep you prefer physical sim.

Yeah I always go with a real SIM. esim like everyone else has ever mentioned almost never work with the online activation portal. I don't feel like chatting with spectrum each time I want to switch phones and have them pretend like they don't know the portal is a POS. My OnePlus doesn't play nice with spectrum but esim so I've always had to use a real SIM card in my OnePlus phones. Esim works fine in my OnePlus on every carrier other than spectrum.

Thanks, I did actually chat with an agent before writing the post you quoted. After checking the IMEI of my previous device, she said the previous pSIM could not be reactivated. Seemingly confirmed with a supervisor or IT. I went into the Spectrum store this morning and took care of everything in just a few minutes. Hopefully switching between the S26+ and other device in ~58 days with the pSIM doesn't have any issues.

I have 2 Motorola edge plus phones and both were incompatible when trying to activate on Spectrum, but I put the Spectrum PSIM card into them and both worked flawlessly; so I didn't know why.

Interesting. The store I went to outright refused to provide physical sim, saying that's not allowed, only esim is allowed for any esim capable phone. Agree that their online device transfer system is broken.

Can I get online chat to send me physical sim? Does the physical sim swap work when trying to register a different device to the acct for unlock purposes anyway?

I dont have this issue. My store will give me physical sim each time I asked. In your case, bring in a older phone (non esim) say you like to switch phone. Once you got the sim, that sim will work on all spectrum phones and other compatible phones.

So what is the next round of sale? I think Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8, Fold 8, and Fold 8 Wide.

My trade-in shipped April 21 was delivered April 24, and the Spectrum Trade-In site shows "Delivered" with processing underway.
However, other phones shipped earlier on April 18 (delivered April 23) still show "Awaiting Shipment". They never even updated to "In Transit."

All were dropped off at the same store using a UPS QR code, and I have UPS receipts with tracking for all.

This seems really odd. Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be a processing issue with UPS on April 18, or just an error in status updates (especially since the later shipment updated correctly)? Would it make sense to contact Assurant and provide the UPS tracking numbers to check on the status?

I have 1 phone on free line that the Sales rep activated with a Psim but the others I activated at home--so I assume that would be Esim? If I take 3 of these phones off early and put them onto the free line--what sim would I use? The one that's in the main phone or do I need to get psim for the other 3 to make it easier to put them on the free line. I know I won't have a challenge getting a psim from the sales guy before I cancel the lines--then I'll avoid him--feeling guilty lol
