Your right either a phone call or chat. I was able to suspend them through chat very easily and they are off my bill for this next month. They are suspended for 90 days.

Now will see how unlocking goes.
Thanks for the idea. Good luck! Can you still generate a transfer pin to port out when the lines are suspended? Can we cancel lines while they are suspended?

Holy smoke... So they tried to screw you by charging $400 into your next statement. It didn't make any sense. I never return the phones to Spectrum; so I don't know, but I have heard some returned the new phones back to Spectrum due to the denied trade-ins and no one complained like yours. Anyway that was not right and they must take that $400 off; otherwise dispute with your credit card. Are you really sure about that? Looks at the balance for the next statement on the left side, does it say at least $400 on your next statement?
Wonder how their billing works for refunds and trade-in credits. Everything looks weird in my account.

I placed two online orders, Order 1 with 2 phones, Order 2 with 1 phone. All S26+. In order 1, I kept one phone (got trade-in credit for this phone) and returned one phone. I kept the phone in Order 2 as well and got the trade-in credit.

I first got trade-in credits for two phones (705*2 = $1410), and I have $21.14 credit already in my account due to in-store trade-in. So requested a total $1431.14 to my card and received the money.

Later asked to return one phone in Order 1, shipped it back, got $790.74 back as credit, and they added $400 promo reversal fee. I first requested the $790.74 to my card, got the money refunded to my card. Now I see they added the refund money $790.74 as I owed, along with $400.

I am not sure about the transfer pin. I have to assume you can cancel a suspended line. What can they tell you if you want to cancel it---NO not likely. However at 90 days it will reactivate itself so you have to make sure you do something before that time. I figured if I had to pay the $20 to get it unlocked it would be better to pay it after it was suspended for the 30 days which would put it at approx 90 days. Obviously hoping it will unlock without having to resume service. I said family members were going overseas (partially true) so I needed it suspended.

To be clear, are you thinking they will unlock your phones while the line is suspended? Seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened. Wondering if you have to lift the suspension will they restart the 60 day count? On the page for the suspended line(s) you should be able to see a place to generate a transfer. If it's not there, that is the answer. My billing cycle ends on exactly 60 days from activation. Was planning on completing a port on the same day to not be charged another month as they make it hard to cancel. Might just suspend it and then cancel on a different day. Thanks

I have no idea if the phone will unlock or not. If people are able to activate them and take them off the line--then it doesn't seem that the phone has to be active on the line for 60 days so it shouldn't matter if the line is suspended. I won't know until the time comes but I figured if I have to put them on for a total of 60 days then hopefully it won't matter if there is a gap in between the 60 days. I didn't activate 3 of them the same day as I purchased them so 2 cycles weren't going to work for those 3 phones. I was going to be a few days short. If nothing else I'll put them on the free line and get them unlocked but we will see how this works out. I'll try and get them unlocked on the suspended line first just so people will know if it works. I'm not sure if you can port out a suspended line so I'll probably just cancel the 3 phone lines. If you can get it unlocked on the 60th day then you might be better off just porting out--but start in the morning so you have time to get it done that day.

Appreciate the reply. Definitely worth the shot and get your point about not wanting to pay for three cycles. Will be so helpful to know if we can put the phones from the second line on the free line and get it unlocked. Even if I had to wait another 60 days I would be okay with that. Was also wondering if you suspend the line and reinstate it before the end of the billing cycle will it be prorated? Have always had the first month of the second line prorated to match the billing cycle of the free line but this time it happen to fall on the same day. Once you port or cancel there is no refund for a partial month.
As far as porting out, was going to order the port and have the new phone in hand to complete the port once the phone is unlocked unless anyone has a better suggestion. Thanks

They received both of my trade‑in phones and even emailed me confirming the credits would be applied. But only one credit has posted to my account. I called and chatted with support, and they told me I have to wait two full billing cycles before they can escalate it. It's strange because this has never happened to me before—usually the credit shows up soon after the confirmation email. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Did you send in two cheap phones or was one of them a spectrum S26 series phone?

By the way, if you delete your line, they allow you to restore the deleted line within 30 days in case you change your mind. I did this once.

Two cheap phones. And I have email confirmations for both as well. But for some reason only one credit posted. Not both.

Received my second and last trade in credit. This time it took a little longer for Assurant to process the trade in but I have no complaints. First time I got a $705 credit to my card. This time he credited just the credit balance (after my first month and activation fee) since it was a new line. Fine by me, I have to pay it anyway.

Definitely the deal of the year for me. Just need to wait to get the phones unlocked now!

Was your ticket created after a chat/phone representative failed to unlock initially?

Mine was created on May 13, got a message from Spectrum yesterday that they are still working on it.

Chat rep created the ticket. Told me I could go to a store but I had 0 intention of wasting my time doing that.
