Best buy price matched a tv for me and asked me to cancel on delivery day. Said its out of stock now

Dumb question. I've only ever hooked a computer to my TV / Projectors and used like that. (I don't understand why everyone doesn't do this).
I've never had a 'smart' TV. I can turn off any OS crap and strictly use it with my computer, right?
