My corded one is dying so I will take a chance at this one. If I get two hair cuts out of it, I already made money over getting it done elsewhere so it's worth a shot.

I have no hair cutting skills. So I'm attempting use a 2.5 inch guard all around. My hair especially on sides and back it too bulky and puffy. I spent $200 on cordless clippers plus another $15 on guard clips

Good, that you can cut your own hair.

for $14, even if it works one time that's still less than half of what a barber will charge. Of course, it won't look half as good as how a professional barber will cut it, but we don't all need that top level haircut either.

Keeping in mind everyone's hair is different.

An old girlfriend of mine was a professional hairdresser and she always told me the trick to getting the thick hair on the sides of my head was to use a thinning scissors.

I got a pair and along with my cordless trimmer I've been cutting my own hair for years.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have been cutting my hair since March 2020 and getting the sides to blend in with the top had always been a problem. This should do the trick.

Thanks yeah when I used to get haircuts at salons I'd always ask them to use those type scissors. I've been on hair medications for 14 months and beeen hesitant to get any haircuts. But with traveling and important events coming up for me next month , I don't want to look sloppy lol. I've been doing the slick back style and using bryll cream but it's still thick and hard to style. Do you recommend any hair products to achieve that wet look and prevent it being puffy? I've also tried coconut oil leave in conditioners but that's mostly after showers only

Thanks yeah ...

The biggest suggestion I can make is the simplest.

Always trim your hair a day or two ahead of whatever appointment etc. you've got coming up. It may be just psychological, but my hair always feels/looks better after a day or two.
