This is kinda tempting even if I have no use for it. Basically a super docked Steam Deck.

Almost seems like you could part this out with ram and SSD prices being what they are.

Apply the coupon code mentioned in this page manually. The one you are seeing is a default code which you need to replace.

Correction: it seems like only one port is 2.5GbE. The other is 1.0GbE.
The nice thing about this one is that it's USB-C powered. I really wish this was standard. I don't want weird proprietary charges for these things.

May be try cleaning your browser cache or incognito mode. I just tried the ACEAM1840 code and it is working perfectly.

This chip is way more powerful at everything... Uses more power though, but not an issue as a PC and not a handheld.

Thus why I called it a super docked Steam Deck Wink

P.S. The 100W charger did catch my eye as well. Probably well oversized based on normal draw of the CPU but likely provides plenty of overhead for any power draw from the USB ports.

Any idea what nics are used in this? Open BSD is fussy with most anything other than Intel.

Probably the best Mini PC deal I've seen in months. It's getting really hard to find any DDR5-equipped Minis at a reasonable price.

The RAM alone is $210-$260 on the secondary market, the 1TB NVMe at $110. ~$225 for the remaining PC is a good deal.

State sales tax adds $47 (IL) for me to put the total cost at $596. Still not bad, but I personally don't *need* this, so I'll pass. I've been looking to replace an aging i5-8500 server I mainly use for occasional game server hosting.

Get it while it's good, as it only shows 18 remaining in stock. Besides being a good general-use PC, it'll also work nicely as a generalist server or Steam Machine. The 780m is still a great integrated GPU and the 7840u is a solid upper-midrange 8/16 CPU.

Mediatek MT7921 most probably. In 99% cases, AMD Mini PCs and even laptops from mazor brands, come with Mediatek Wi-Fi. AMD and Mediatek have a partnership here.

Just bought one of these a month ago,I'm seeing why it's so discounted. It's decently powered as expected but it runs very hot and the fan is quite loud when pegged. And more disappointing, the smaller fan on the bottom is already squealing...

Yeah, Acemagic doesn't have the best of reputation for longevity. They're more of a, "best specs you can get for bottom of the barrel prices" OEM.

The 7840HS is a powerful CPU when it's paired with a good thermal solution. It might work better with a thermal paste replacement with something like PTM7950. Acemagic reportedly used pretty basic thermal compound, and it could be poorly applied. If you end up replacing that smaller case fan, it might pay to do a repaste at the same time, if you're technically minded.
