1) Walmart can have the exact same tire, rating and size listed with Walmart as the seller for different prices. So if you want a different size scroll through all the Falken AT tires via the filters with Walmart listed as the seller. Back in December my particular tires were listed for 220ish. A couple days later while scrolling there was another listing for the same tire for around around this price ($142). They were both listed with Walmart as the seller and had identical specs. Idk if maybe one was from Walmart online and the other from the local Walmart store or what but it was nice to basically get a 30% discount because of it.
2) You can probably price match other stores with this. In Nov/Dec I PM'd to discount tire direct because they accepted the PayPal pay in 4 split pay option that qualified for the 20% cashback. So def check if you've got cashback from somewhere else because you may be able to get a better deal.
That said there are def advantages to buying from Walmart. They are everywhere so if you have a problem you are more likely to be within shouting distance of a Walmart than Discount tire etc.
Walmart plus membership gives "free" premium installation which is normally 20ish per tire.
First of all they have reinforced sidewalls so if you're curb enthusiast it's less of a big deal.
They're also snowflake rated. My wife and I went up a mountain pass on a vacation a touch unprepared and these performed amazing (they meet BC 3 peak highway certification qualifications)
I have had tons of "All Season" tires and I can't find a significant noise difference between these tires and most of the normal All Seasons I've run.
Summer grip is fine for anything non-performance. We've had them on a NA SUV and our old Turbo Forester (reasonably fast until you start jumping into the 50k+ SUVs with more torque) and had no grip issues. They do great in large puddles as well.
TLDR: I will "Stan" these tires until they make them worse.
If I purchase the tire from amazon, how should I install them? Find a auto shop? How much will it usually cost?
I only have experience purchase from costco, which included installation service.
